SIGNIFICANT

Onomatopoeia helps a poem become more exciting. Since poems are supposed to be recited out loud with tone and rhythm, onomatopoeia can brings an exciting and sometimes surprisingly atmosphere and feeling to the poem. A poem can sounds very natural with onomatopoeia words in it.

DEFINITION

When an object is being described as a human being; An object that's being describe with human traits. 

EXAMPLE

The gentle wind kisses my cheeks as I walked.

SIGNIFICANT

Personification can help a poem become more colorful, interesting, and artistic. It's more visual. We can see things happening in a poem in a more interesting way through personification. It helps us to connect/relate with some scenes in a poem. It can make a scene become more dramatic also. Poets can express their ideas of creativity, sometimes even humor, through personfication.

Interpretation ©

DEFINITION

The way an individual understand something. 

EXAMPLE

After watching Black Swan, two best friends tell each other about their interpretation of the movie.

Girl A: Perfection is not only about control but also about letting go and feel the art from within.

Girl B: No?! This movie tells us never to take ballet lessons.

SIGNIFICANT

A poem can carry many messages and it's depend on the reader for what they can learn from. A poem can be interpreted differently from different perspective. An interpretation from an individual can be affected by many causes such as cultural beliefs, peer pressure, etc. From a poem, many interpretation can be pulled out which make it more colorful and meaningful.

When many lines of metaphor appear in a poem

EXAMPLE
My son is a bat.
His eyes blink when darkness comes.

His limbs gorge with blood

Attracted by the false lights
he mingles with his batty friends
weaving in and out of nightclubs

A metaphor can helps a poem becomes more artistic. It make the comparison of objects become more firmly as if they were stated that way. You can use metaphor to explain something more easily or you can use metaphor to make an object become more complex. Authors can also express feelings through how they compare their objects.

A stanza helps us to recognize when the poem is turning to a new idea. With stanza, the reader can stop and can get the chance to cut a poem into smaller pieces so that it's easier to understand.
